Question: How will prize winners be selected?

    Answer:

Three $15,000 prizes will be allocated by people’s choice (online voting). An individual who holds a BC Ideas Changemakers account can vote for three projects. The BC Ideas judges will pre-select 12 of the top projects, and those 12 project will go to a vote. BC has devised mechanism to monitor spam votes. If your project is selected for a vote, you will be notified and be provided with materials to assist with voting.

The remaining prize amounts will be awarded by BC Ideas judges. For more information visit the Funding Opportunities page: http://www.changemakers.com/BCideas/Funding

Question from Nelson BC: How to publish an entry

    Answer:

Once logged into http://www.bcideas.ca, place your cursor over your username in the top right-hand corner, a drop-down menu will appear. At the bottom of that menu “Draft” will appear in bold writing. Click “Draft”- then a small pop up window will appear. Click “Edit” to update your draft entry.

When editing your draft, there is a “Publish” button (in grey) on the right hand side of the application. We encourage entrants to publish their applications early. Even published applications can be updated and edited until the final September 12th deadline. Your application must be published to be eligible for BC Ideas funding.
